Special investigation teams formed to check temple thefts
Patrolling has been intensified and police beats have been modified to include temples

Nellore: Special investigation teams have been formed to detect the recent thefts in a host of the temples in the district. The teams consisting of a circle inspector, sub-inspector and 3 constables have been keeping a tab on the movement of offenders with previous history.
Patrolling has been intensified and police beats have been modified to include temples in their routes.At the instance of superintendent of police S. Senthil Kumar, police officials have conducted meetings with committee members of the temples in their jurisdiction all over the district few days ago.
They gave tips to the committees on how to protect the valuables.Instructions were given to the temple administrations to deposit gold and silver ornaments that are not in regular use in the bank lockers or in the safe custody of temple heads. The temple committees have been asked to take the help of locals to guard the temple during nights.
