Burglars decamp with 200 gm gold ornaments

Hyderabad: Burglars broke into a house in the Huda Sai Nagar Colony at Vanasthalipuram and fled with 200 grams of gold ornaments on Sunday. The inmates were present at the time of the incident. The thieves entered through the kitchen.

The complainant, Ashok Kumar Sharma, 40, who is in the transport business, stays with his family on the first floor of Kalpana Enclave. Police said Ashok, his wife and children were sleeping in different rooms.

Police said his wife was sleeping in the bedroom from where the ornaments were stolen. Though all doors were closed, the window in the kitchen was left open.

“The robbers unlatched the kitchen door through the window. They walked into the bedroom where Ashok’s wife was sleeping. Using the key which was placed near the almirah, they picked up the gold and fled,” said detective sub-inspetor K. Suresh of Vanasthalipuram.

The inmates who woke up in the morning realised what happened and approached the police, who began investigations.
