Secunderabad to Delhi route is most popular with 130 per cent occupancy

Hyderabad: The nine premium trains introduced by the South Central Railways have been a major success, with occupancy crossing 120 per cent. There is a demand for more premium trains and many passengers are even willing to pay additional charges for confirmed tickets. Vijayashekar B., a passengers who traveled by a premium train, said, “There should be more premium trains. They are a life-saver when one urgently needs to reach somewhere. Often, we have to pay the agents to secure reserved tickets on regular trains. We would rather pay for tickets on premium trains.”

Among the three premium train routes Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Secunderabad-Chennai and Secunderabad-Delhi the Secunderabad-Delhi route is most popular with 130 per cent occupancy. Also, as per the Budget announcement, a weekly premium train on the Secunderabad-Nizamuddin route will be introduced soon.
