Sources here told DC that the investigation team had got clear evidence to prove the involvement of CPM local leaders in the murder.
The team, which is verifying the mobile call records of the accused, has found that a local branch secretary of the CPM was in constant touch with the accused on the murder day and before.
This particular cell phone number is now switched off and the suspect is absconding.
Meanwhile, the police team has extended its search for the key accused to neighbouring states.
Police said the suspected leader of the assailants, Vikraman, had been working out of his base in Mumbai but his whereabouts at present were not known.
