Thiruvananthapuram: BJP all-India secretary and former RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav will reach Kannur on Sept 12 to review the aftermath  of the killing of RSS leader K.T.Manoj.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is also likely to arrive in Kannur on Sept 27.

He is expected to attend the birthday celebrations of Matha Amrithananda Mayi at Vallikkavu in Kollam.

BJP state president V. Muraleedharan had called on Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday where he had apprised him of the developments in Kannur after the recent killing of the RSS activist.

Muraleedharan said Ram Madhav was currently in the US and on his return, his trip to Kannur would be finalized.

At the meeting with Rajnath Singh, Muraleedharan expressed his anguish over the killing of Manoj and urged that depending on the merit of the case, either the CBI or the National Investigation Agency should probe the brutal murder.

“The Kerala Police has recommended a CBI probe into Manoj’s murder and depending on the merit of the case, the NIA can also look into the case. We have also demanded a CBI probe into the second Marad case where the role of terrorist links as well as the source of funds should also be investigated”, said Muraleedharan to DC over phone from Delhi.

Muraleedharan lamented that the UPA Government had not taken any steps to order a CBI probe into the second Marad case.

Rajnath Singh had sought time to study the issue and depending on its merit, it would be probed.

Muraleedharan also said it was not certain whether Rajnath Singh had plans to visit Kannur.

But it seems he had evinced keen interest in knowing the distance between Vallikavu and Kannur.
