Hyderabad: These are exciting times for tipple lovers in India as new brands and premium ranges have made their way here. And there’s much more to choose from, so we’re certainly not complaining. The first development is that Aspri Spirits now markets and distributes Patrón XO Café in India and the other good news is that Johnnie Walker House, Mumbai has been set up at the T2 Mumbai International Airport. When it rains, it pours!

When it comes to the Patrón XO Café, I find that it is excellent for sipping, pairs well with other cocktails, or can be used as a unique and delicious dessert topping. The taste is dry, not sweet as with most low-proof coffee liqueurs with notes of chocolate and vanilla. It’s the perfect way to end one’s meals, especially as a unique after-dinner cocktails.

“This is an ultra premium, luxury white spirit that’s delicious on the rocks and mixes flawlessly into almost any cocktail,” says Arun Kumar, the co-founder Aspri Spirits. I couldn’t have agreed more.

I had a bounce in my step as I headed to the Johnnie Walker House, a matter of pride for us Mumbaikars, as we have the first and only one in India so far. After all the Mumbai International airport is a key travel hub, which makes it a perfect location for JWH. Among the lucky few to get a sneak preview, I can tell you that it is opulence personified. There’s also a luxury mentoring zone, where specialists will invite travellers to touch, taste and smell the rare elements that make up this iconic whisky.

“We launched this in line with consumers’ desire for unique experiences and evolving taste palates. It will be home to some of the rarest and most luxurious blends from our portfolio, that are unrivalled in taste, heritage and craftsmanship,” said Abanti Sankaranarayanan, the managing director for Diageo India.
Two experiences that I can’t wait to try again soon!
