Man kills sister’s hubby over suicide

Mother of three hangs herself at her residence after frequent domestic quarrels

Hyderabad: Angered by the suicide of his sister, a man stabbed her husband to death at the Jaipur Colony in L.B. Nagar on Wednesday.

Police said that Saleema Begum, 38, and her husband Baba Miya, 42, have three kids and were staying in Jaipur Colony. Baba Miya is an employee at The Hyderabad Race Club. The couple used to have frequent fights over petty issues.

On Tuesday night they had a fight and after that Saleema hanged herself to death in the early hours of Wednesday. Baba Miya who found her dead alerted other members of the family. Her brother Kallimuddin alias Munna, 35, a welder, learnt about her death and came to the house.

“He carried a knife to attack Baba Miya. He said it was due to Baba Miya’s harassment that his sister ended her life. He slit Miya’s throat and stabbed him many times resulting in instant death,” said inspector E. Srinivas Reddy of L.B. Nagar.

Locals rushed to Miya’s rescue but it was too late. The incident occurred at around 9 am.

The police registered two cases, one for murder and the other for dowry death. The bodies were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
