Hyderabad: In yet another case of inappropriate punishment given to students at schools, a Class IV student was allegedly made to polish his teacher’s shoes at Hyderguda in Narayanguda on Wednesday.
According to Achyuta Rao, a member of the State Child Rights Commission, Pradyumna, a student of St. Paul’s High School, accidentally collided with the biology teacher, identified as Sujatha, in the morning. The teacher got angry and slapped the boy. Then she took him to the physical education teacher Vijay.
“As a punishment, Mr Vijay made the child polish his shoes,” said Achyuta Rao. When he returned home, the child told his parents and they approached the State Child Rights Commission and filed a petition. A police complaint is yet to be lodged.
