Health minister assures to provide more facilities at Hindupur hospital

Anantapur: The Health Minister, Kamineni Sreenivas, assured to link up the long distance Hyderabad and proposed new capital Vijayawada, with corporate and other big hospitals in Bengaluru, the Karnataka State capital, under the NTR Arogyasree scheme. The Arogyasree scheme is confined to give medical facility at notified corporate hospitals, in the State, mainly at Hyderabad, for the people of Andhra Pradesh; and hence it had become very difficult for the patients of Anantapur.

But most of the patients are visiting hospitals at Bengaluru though there is no facility of reimbursement. The Minister, Kamineni Sreenivas, during his visit, announced a special relaxation for people of Anantapur to avail medical facilities in Bengaluru. As part of his visit to the district, the Health Minister had inaugurated generic medical stores at Hindupur accompanied by the Minister, Palle Raghunath Reddy and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna. A bhumi pooja was held for construction of additional buildings at Hindupur. The Minister assured to upgrade Hindupur district area hospital after MLA Balakrishna proposed to establish a model hospital in the State.

The Health Minister had inspected the general hospital at Anantapur and interacted with the doctors. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sreenivas said land acquisition would soon be started for the establishment of super specialty hospital with an estimate of Rs 150 crore. Recalling the consequences of the State division, the Health Minister observed that medical and health departments had been badly hit, than the other departments. “We’ve rebuild everything at all parts of 13 districts connecting to medical facilities,” he said and added that the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, was making all efforts towards development of the State with assistance of the Centre.

Responding to the long pending problems, including lack of equipment at all departments, the Minister assured to solve all the problems. He stressed the doctors should spend additional time to serve the patients and in rebuilding the State. The hospital committee of Anantapur general hospital elected senior doctor Rama Subbai-ah as committee chairman on the occasion.
