Pinki was forced to undergo a sex verification test to determine her gender

Kolkata: Asian Games gold medallist Pinki Pramanik, who was accused by her live-in partner Anamika Acharya of being a male who raped her, has been cleared of all charges by the Calcutta High Court on Friday.

She had been arrested and kept in custody for 25 days. She was also forced to undergo a sex verification test to determine her gender after which she appealed to the High Court in 2013.

Justice Subrata Talukdar on Friday ordered that all charges framed against Prinki be dropped.
