Gorge into mouth watering delicacies this Dasara

To blend food varieties with culture, dandia, bangda & other events too will be organized

Mysore: While the district administration is gearing up for the cultural extravaganza, with Yuva Dasara organizers planning to invite noted playback singers Sonu Nigam from Bollywood and Nanditha and Rajesh Krishnan from Sandalwood, foodies can relish mouth water delicacies at Dasara Aharmela duirng the forthcoming fest.

This year, the Dasara Aharmela sub-committee is increasing the number of stalls from 110 to 120 which will offer delicacies upto 11pm, from September 25 to  October 2. They are all set to offer more than 20 styles of food with the theme, “Food for Life”, from traditional to continental, including ancient food, Mysore goodies, Kerala food, Coastal, Malnad, Kodava, North Karnataka, North Indian and Andhra food besides food with medicinal value, bakery items, condiments, biscuits, juices, ice creams and cool drinks to tourists.

Industries from Mysore, manufacturing ready to eat food will be given stalls to exhibit and sell the products at the mela. They are even contemplating offering Mysore thali including Mysorepak on a plantain leaf for lunch at the Aharmela venue.

Also food festivals including those from Punjabi, Gujrathi, Kerala and others in collaboration with various societies in Mysore including Gujarathi samaj and others will be held on each day. To blend the food varieties with the cultural programmes, dandia, bangda and other events will be organized at the Aharmela venue.
