Mumbai: Salman Khan, the Bhai, the Big Boss, heads an NGO, Being Human, and has now turned philosophical.
“There were millions before us on earth and there will be millions after us. We are here for a short span of 60 or 70 years. We interact with a few thousands of people, some of whom create problems. It is OK. Yeh kya ukhad lenge? Why take tension? Do not take problems seriously. They are part and parcel of life,” he says with a smile.
“Mein stress leta nahi hoon…deta hoon!!” Therefore, I never look for any de-stressing, mantra!!” says Sallu about stress. Dodging questions about plans for his sister Arpita’s wedding in Hyderabad, Salman says, “Hmm, not now, wedding updates will come later,” adding, “I love Hyderabad. My dear Hyderabad fans do watch me in Bigg Boss season 8. I have turned a pilot and Jallad will be my co-pilot.”
When asked about the drama and fuss about him hosting Bigg Boss, he replies in a tongue-in-cheek manner. “Unless and until you say ‘No’ initially, how will your remuneration be hiked?,” he smiles. But on a serious note he said that there were a few differences of opinion which were eventually sorted out.
We ask whether the reality show is scripted. “Bigg Boss is not scripted, how can anyone write those dialogues?” he shoots back. “The tasks are so well designed that uske andar jhagda hona hi hona hai. There is no food, no coffee, you’re bound to get irritable.”
Apparently, after Salman Khan inadvertently “leaked” the names of contestants last season, by revealing them to his sister Alvira (who then, as Salman says, “told our mom, who then told her friends and so on…”) this season, Alvira instructed the BB team to not let her bade bhaiyya know any of the contestants’ names, so he wouldn’t be tempted to tell her!
“Sometimes the team does change contestants when the names are leaked out,” Salman adds. “Last time they gave me some weird names; I kept waiting but those people didn’t turn up on the show.”
We ask him about a contestant that he’d like to see on the show this year? “Sanjay Dutt! Unko wahaan (jail) se nikaal ke yahan (Bigg Boss house) dalo,” Salman says, before adding with a laugh, “But I guarantee he will say, ‘Mujhe wapas wahaan bhej do’! Bigg Boss is a very difficult place to be in.” And about Shah Rukh’s promoting Happy New Year on Bigg Boss, “We will definitely promote Happy New Year on Bigg Boss, why not?” Salman replies.
Asked about his love life, the irrepressible Salman Khan says, “I want to be the ‘Bigg Boss’ for my kids, I don’t know if I will be a husband, but bachchon ka main guarantee de sakta hoon!”
About the photographers’ ban on him, Sallu says, “Isme nuksaan sirf Salman ka hi hoga because photographers have the whole industry’s stars to shoot. But if they want to take my pictures, they have to do it quietly and respectfully.”
