Hyderabad“When other nations can showcase their heritage structures with pride, why can't the Hyderabadis boast of their marvelously rich culture?” asked architect Kahlid Mohinuddin.
The Dubai returned architect said, “The current generation here is not aware of the true value of the heritage structures.

Though foreign dignitaries, like former US President Bill Clinton, and other tourists are always impressed by the city's heritage structures, not many Hyderabadis take out time to visit local monuments.”

Mr Mohinuddin held a documented presentation of photographs taken by Raja Deendayal and those belonging to the Washington University, at the Salar Jung Museum on Saturday. Some of the photos were 200 years old.

The architect, who lived outside the country for about 32 years, played a major role in the Dubai Heritage Body as well. However, during vacations, whenever he would be back home in Hyderabad, he would take pictures of the monuments every day. “Pictures speak volumes. They reveal the era, culture, lifestyle and most importantly the heritage,” he said.

Currently, he has been assigned to design a cannon park at Raymond Tomb, in Moosarambagh.
