Centre nod for Vizag Solar power project

Hyderabad: The Central government has in principle agreed to sanction a 4,000 MW NTPC power project at Visakhapatnam and 5,00 MW each of solar power projects at Guntur and Anantapur. 
 
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on his Delhi visit on Saturday met Union coal and power minister Piyush Goyal and discussed the power position in the state. Mr Goyal is likely to come to Hyderabad soon and announce these three projects. 
 
Meanwhile, Mr Naidu met the Gas Authority of India chairman and managing director B.C. Tripathi and explained the proposed skill development mission in the state. Assuring co-operation for the skill development mission, Gail chairman Mr Tripathi announced Rs 10 crore for the mission. He also said that the skill development centre will be at Gail office building in Nagaram in East Godavari district. He said that they will appoint faculty members and start various courses. 
 
He also sanctioned Rs 4 crore to construct toilets in government schools in various villages in the state. 
 
Mr Naidu asked the Gail Chairman to supply gas within 15 months to the proposed scheme of gas supply to each household in the state. Earlier in the day Mr Naidu met Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, who underwent surgery and enquired about his health.
