Seven more Air India Express flights from October 26
AI Express will introduce two non-stop flights between Calicut and Doha

Kochi: Air India Express is set to add seven more flights in the winter schedule commencing on October 26 taking the total number of its flights to 166 a week from 159 flights a week. Passengers from Kerala will benefit most as most of the flights will be from Kerala airports as also from Mangalore which cater to the passengers from Northern Kerala.
Addressing a press conference here AIE Chief Executive Officer K. Shyam Sunder said that in addition to the daily flights being operated between Calicut and Doha, operated on the Cochin-Calicut-Bahrain-Doha route, AI Express will introduce two non-stop flights between Calicut and Doha. The airline will reconnect Mangalore to Kuwait and operate non-stop flights between Mangalore and Doha, he added.
The frequency of flights to Muscat from Cochin and Trivandrum will be increased from three flights a week to four flights a week in the winter schedule, the CEO said.
"Flights from Mangalore to Kuwait had been discontinued in February 2014 due to the grounding of the leased planes. Flights from Mangalore to Kuwait thrice a week planned in the airline's winter schedule will operate in a triangular manner covering Bahrain," said Shyam Sunder.
The airline will operate two non-stop flights per week between Mangalore and Doha. The days of operation will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Two non-stop flights between Calicut and Doha will depart from Calicut on Wednesday and Friday at 17.55 hours, arriving in Doha at 19.55 hours and in the return direction, the additional flights from Doha to Calicut will depart from Doha at 10.30 hours and reach Calicut at 17.05 hours (local time). The airline will also operate one flight per week on the Mumbai-Doha route.
