Coimbatore : The state BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan appealed to  all Opposition parties to come together to support the BJP  to combat the “extraordinary situation” prevailing in Tamil Nadu.Speaking to mediapersons here, the state BJP chief said that “money power, muscle power and misuse of power” had reared their “ugly head” in the state.

“It is important for the voters of the Congress and DMK to support BJP so as to bring about progress and development in this most potential city of the state,” she said. When the Centre has convened a meeting of the  the state ministers to discuss the power crisis in Tamil Nadu, the  ministers are busy camping in Coimbatore with scant concern for the people  who are reeling under power crunch,” she said.

Further, the industries in Coimbatore are crippled because of the long hours of power outage, she pointed out.“It is important for a national party to win the elections if Coimbatore has to witness infrastructural development akin to Gujarat. The development schemes of the Central government will be implemented without any delay only if the BJP comes to power,” she said.

She also called upon the allies of the NDA including DMDK and MDMK to work for the victory of the BJP candidate R. Nandakumar in Coimbatore mayoral elections.
