Hyderabad: Union urban development minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said Hyderabad has power to attract investments and people from all round the globe and said the city belongs to everyone. In an apparent dig at the TRS government, Mr Venkaiah Naidu said the city will grow phenomenally provided those in power don’t disturb it. Dismissing criticism against the Narendra Modi gover-nment, Mr Venkaiah Naidu said a beginning has been made to herald Modi’s promised “Achche Din.”
Mr Venkaiah Naidu has addressed the gathering after he set the foundation stone for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Centre of Excellence here on Sunday. “Hyderabad has the power to attract people from different corners of the world. It has that specialty,” Mr Venkaiah Naidu said. He added, “It would be enough if those in the government do not disturb that power. It will go ahead further if encouraged.” Mr Venkaiah Naidu also said Hyderabad belongs to all and everyone residing in this city are Hyderabadis and have equal rights and freedom.
Dismissing criticism against the Modi government, Naidu Mr Venkaiah said the Prime Minister was scoring singles and he would accelerate very soon. “Even Sachin Tendulkar scores through singles before he goes for those big hits and that’s what makes him different from Virender Sehwag,” Mr Venkaiah Naidu said. However, he said many changes have been brought. The GDP growth had risen to 5.7 per cent in the first quarter of this fiscal year and power generation in the country had increased by 22 per cent.
