The inbound flight of Malaysia Airlines had returned after detecting a defect in the auto-pilot system
HyderabadThe Hyderabad-bound Boeing 737-800 flight (MH 198) from Kuala Lampur, which had turned back on Saturday night and had taken a night halt at the KL International Airport, landed at the Hyderabad airport at 1.56 pm on Sunday.
 
The inbound flight of Malaysia Airlines had returned after detecting a defect in the auto-pilot system. Flight MH 198 from Kuala Lumpur to Hyderabad took off 10.20 pm on Saturday night, but had to turn back due to an auto-pilot defect. Though the passengers were scared, the flight landed safely at the KL  Airport at 2.01 am on Sunday.
 
“The defect did not have any impact on the safety of the aircraft or passengers, however, as a precautionary measure, the operating captain decided to turn back,” the airline has said in a statement.
 
The airline said that upon return to the KL airport, passengers and crew disembarked safely and they were given accommodation at nearby hotels. The flight was rescheduled for 12 noon.
