Why Chiranjeevi didn’t work with Krishna Vamsi
Actor explains why it was a conscious decision
Hyderabad: Chiranjeevi is very confident that his son’s upcoming film, Govindudu Andari Vaadele, will be a big hit.
“I have known director Krishna Vamsi for a long time. He is a director who can make actors act realistically. He depicts human relations very well and this can be seen in every one of his films. In this film too he has done an amazing job and I am sure this film will be a great success,” says Chiru.
But the veteran added that he never wanted to act in a Krishna Vamsi film himself because of the director’s perfection.
“After I reached a high point, I was comfortable with my kind of films. So if I did a film with Krishna Vamsi, with his school of acting being different, I felt I may have to struggle to satisfy him. So I decided not to do his film and go with entertainment-based films instead,” he says. He also adds that the audience will see a different Charan with this Govindudu Andari Vaadele.
Chiranjeevi also revealed that a few actors in the film were changed. “When I saw the rushes of the film I felt that a few actors didn’t merge well with the local scenes and script. So I suggested that producer bring in Prakash Raj and Jaya Sudha.” Chiru added that the producer had to the apologise to the actors whose scenes didn’t end up in the final cut — but they got their pay in full.
