BJP seeks ‘Modi wave’ for Bengaluru city civic body polls

Its PM’s first visit to Bengaluru after assuming office & so need to make it a huge success

Bengaluru: With the BBMP polls just six months away, the state BJP is going all out to make a huge success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Karnataka, the first after he assumed office.

Mr Modi who is arriving to inaugurate a food park at Tumkur, will spend September 23 and 24 in the state. He will be felicitated at HAL airport with a 50,000 strong crowd in attendance.

“This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first visit to Bengaluru after assuming office and so we need to make it a huge success. You must generously donate to arrange the function,” former home minister, R Ashok told party workers and BBMP councillors at the Bengaluru BJP’s executive committee meeting, also requesting them to make sure that at least 1000 people from every assembly constituency in the city attended the meeting.
