Mumbai: The Daawat-e-Ishq star Aditya Roy Kapur (ARK) recently revealed that no matter how many mouth-watering dishes he cooked for Parineeti Chopra in the film, he still has to get the hang of cooking before calling himself a cook.

“I have never cooked for anyone in my life. I have cooked only for myself. May be I have cooked for my friends, that is pretty much all the cooking I have done,” he said.

The actor also shared that even after this film he doesn’t know how to cook. “I know how to make scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and omelette.”

Hyderbadi rumali rotis are famous for the way they are been made, which was quiet a task for Parineeti while for Aditya it was an art, saying its something he learned from this films, the art of flipping the rumali roti.

“We had to change the whole screen-play of the film because my character in the film had to teach her how to flip those rotis but she was trying and couldn’t get it only. So we changed the scene, made it something where she didn’t come. She was blaming her nails, it was tough for her to learn that.”

Aditya will be seen playing the character of Tariq Haider, a cook from Lucknow who is spellbound by Parineeti in the film. Their Daawat-e-Ishq chemistry is something you should watch this film for. “I have never played this kind of character in my career. It required me to change the way I speak, the way I walk and talk and be a little larger than life. A little more flamboyant a character I have ever played. He is not from a big city and he is not a very urban guy. He is a raw. So those things were challenging. Habib sir is very good with these things; he likes to do a lot of reading before sketching a character. I attended workshops to know the character better, we have worked hard in this.”

However his female fan following seem disheartened with the fact that his hair is quite short in the film. “It was important that I take it off for this film.” While the star enjoyed getting a new haircut for the film, he passed a subtle comment on the girls feeling bad for cutting their hair.

When asked which character he can relate to the most, the rockstar in Aashiqui 2 or the cook in Daawat-e-Ishq, he coyly says that he there some traits of both in him.

Apart from this film ARK will also be seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s next, Fitoor, with Katrina Kaif. Ranbir Kapoor and ARK’s friendship is not hidden from the shutterbugs so when asked if they discussed personal or work life he says, “We discuss everything (pauses) well not everything (shies away) but yes we end up talking about most of the things.” Although he refused to comment on the film, he said he is really excited to work with Rekha and Katrina and has also started preparing for it.

Rumours are abuzz that Aditya has been cast in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next film with Shraddha Kapoor but he is waiting for an official announcement for the same.
