Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao gave the Road and Buildings department officials a stern warning  that they needed to change their attitude and not scare away MNC’s from the state.

Mr Rao asked Mahbubnagar district collector, Ms Priyadarshini, to immediately intervene and help investors. “I came to know that Roads & Buildings and others harassed you and two others MNCs. I know the officers who have done it. It’s not good. I regret what has happened. It will not be repeated. We will soon have the world’s number one industrial policy and a single window system. A Bill is ready and will be passed in the ensuing Budget session of the Assembly,” he said.

Stating that the R&B department had demanded Rs 4-5 crore from companies for providing connecting roads to units, he asked the department to stop such outdated practises and adopt the new industry-friendly policy promoted by the new Telangana government.

“We will lay the roads. Don’t make industry / investors suffer. MPs, MLAs and other local leaders too should help industries and ensure a hassle free and graft free environment. We need investors, we need jobs for the youth,” he added.

He asked industrialists to contact Mr Pradeep Chandra, Principal Secretary of Industries, or Mr Narsing Rao, Principal Secretary to the CM, if they faced any problems.
