Arsene Wenger rues Ronaldo miss
Wenger also added it would have been nice to have Drogba at Arsenal
London: Known for his ‘spend only when it is absolutely necessary’ attitude, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has had his share of tough times at Arsenal And although his London club had won FA Cup in May after nine long years without a trophy, he has quite a few regrets as a manager of Arsenal; none bigger than the failure to get Ronaldo to wear Arsenal colours.
When asked during one of the events recently, what was his biggest miss in the transfer market, Wenger made an honest confession saying he could not make Cristiano Ronaldo a Gunner even after being extremely close to do so. Wenger also added that it was even more painful to see Ronaldo go and play for Manchester United.
The Frenchman also expressed his sadness about the fact that he could not bring Didier Drogba to Arsenal. Wenger stated it hurt him even more as he went on to score heavily against Arsenal and had he (Wenger) signed Drogba that scenario could have been avoided.
