CMAs have important role to play in new state

Opportunities that lie ahead in banking, infrastructure, healthcare and education

Visakhapatnam: The important role that Certified Management Accountants would be playing in the new state of Andhra Pradesh was stressed at the Telugu Nadu CMA Convention that was condcucted here on Friday. 
 
Institute of Charted Accountants of India president Dr A.S. Durga Prasad spoke about the opportunities that lie ahead for the CMAs in the new state of Andhra Pradesh in various sectors of the economy like banking, infrastructure, healthcare and education. Further, 
he said that in the development of the economy of the new state, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) will have to play a significant role and he proposed to have a help desk in all major chapters of ICAI to help MSMEs with their various issues like pricing and other financial matters. 
 
Mr Prasad said that the members of ICAI must utilise special portal created for registering as independent directors on the institute’s website along with expressing confidence of addressing concerns relating to Cost Rules 2014 through representation to the expert committee constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. 
 
ICAI is a statutory body under an Act of Parliament which is administered by Ministry of Corporate Affairs. 
 
The Convention was also addressed by chairman of South India Regional Council of ICAI, H. Padmanabhan and other central council members along with delegates from the industries as well as students.
