Heavy rains continue to lash Andhra Pradesh, toll 5

Guntur: The heavy rains that have lashed the state for the past two days claimed two more lives on Friday. Two teachers were was-hed away in Koppaganji vagu in Guntur’s Nandendla mandal, raising the death toll to five.

K. Harikrishna, 28, of Govindapuram and T. Venkatewarlu, 26, were crossing the bridge on their bike when a SUV hit it. They fell into the stream and desperate attempts by the locals to save them went in vain.
