Night-time naxals under scanner, says CRPF IG M. Vishnuvardhan Rao
There are no fresh recruitments from tribal villages and naxalism will end soon

Coimbatore: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is in the process of identifying the Naxals who lead normal lives during the day and indulge in naxal activities at night, said CRPF inspector general of police (southern state) M Vishnuvardhana Rao.
The CRPF official who was in the city on Friday asserted that Naxal movements had been curbed in most states. “There are no fresh recruitments from tribal villages and naxalism will end soon. People are not ready to help them in any way to Maoists,” he said.
Vishnuvardhan Rao also said that CRPF has identified and documented the details of nearly 80 per cent of Naxals, who are involved in the extremism.There was a small section of 20 per cent, who hawk vegetables and other articles and doing some odd jobs during the day and indulging in naxal activities atnight. Such naxals were yet to be identified.
“The aim of CRPF is not to kill or eliminate those who indulged in extremism, but bring them to mainstream, particularly the tribals who had joined the Maoists and rehabilitate them,” the official said.
Vishnuvardhan Rao was at the CRPF training college at Kurudampalayam near Coimbatore city to take part in the the passing out parade and attestation ceremony of 166 sub inspector cadets of the 87th batch of Directly Appointed Subordinate Officers.
