By launching the all-new SmartEyeglass, it seems like Sony has decided to challenge Google Glass. Sony has developed its new prototype wearable known as ‘SmartEyeglass’. This smart wearable concept features a transparent lens, which is compatible with smartphones that run on Android 4.1 operating system and higher versions.

The company claims that the SmartEyeglass can superimpose information such as text, symbols, and images, onto the user's field of view. Its hologram optics technology enables the lens to offer high transparency up to 85% and thickness of just 3.0 mm, without the use of half mirrors that obstruct the user's vision.

The monochrome display of SmartEyeglass offers high luminance up to 1,000 cd/m2 that allows the user to easily read text in a wide range. The new smart glass will be in-built with sensing technologies like CMOS image sensor, accelerometer, Gyroscope, electronic compass, brightness sensor, and microphone.
