Guest house for CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s camp

Vijayawada: As part of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s plans to start functioning from the capital city, the local state guest house is under consideration for selection as the Chief Minister’s camp office. According to officials,  Mr Naidu and his cabinet colleagues are searching for offices within the city and its surroundings. At present, there are proposals for several venues. Vijayawada east constituency legislator Gadde Rammohan said that the state guest house could be selected as Chief Minister’s camp office. He said that it had been renovated for this purpose and it would be sufficient for Chief Minister’s stay and administrational functioning.

The state guest house was recently renovated and now is equipped with air-conditioned suites whose number has  increased from two to 10. Four other single AC rooms and eight non-AC rooms are also available in the state guest house. The newly-renovated building was constructed in 1988. There are three separate buildings on the five acre guest house premises. The first building was constructed during British rule. The second building was added in 1970s and renovated in 1999 as part of the beautification project implemented by the VGTM Urban Development Authority.
The state guest house is located in the centre of the city and has four roads around the premises.

Police commissioner’s office is located opposite the state guest house. “The General Admini-stration Department (GAD) will hand over the state guest house premises,” said superintendent K. Basava Reddy. The question that remains is, how the government will maintain the CM’s camp office that is located in the middle of the city. Mr K. Venkata Rao, a daily commuter, wondered how the traffic will be managed without disturbing the public.
