NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old advocate reportedly consumed poisonous tablets in the Supreme Court on Monday afternoon, blaming lax probe by the Chhattisgarh police in her own rape case. The police said that the woman was upset over the delay in arresting of her in-laws, against whom she lodged a rape case, by the Chhattisgarh police.

“On Friday morning, she entered the court premises showing the identity card of a Chhattisgarh court,” said the police, adding “she then consumed poisonous tablets inside a court in front of a judge.” She was immediately rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital by other advocates who then informed the local police about the incident.
