A coat of special paint to blast-proof CM Chandarbabu Naidu office
Polymer-coated blast resistant material is capable of safeguarding from explosions and bullets
Hyderabad: Acting on the advice of security officers, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to paint the walls of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s new office at the Secretariat with blast-resistant paint.
The officials informed that polymer-coated blast resistant material technology was capable of safeguarding the building from explosions and bullets. The extra precaution was needed at the office as the Secretariat was exposed to the main road. His offices in the TDP head office at NTR Bhavan and his residence have no big buildings nearby.

Mr Naidu’s office is located on the Secretariat’s 8th floor in L Block. One side is exposed to the main road by the Telugu Talli flyover. On the opposite side are a few buildings that are of the same height as Mr Naidu’s office. The Birla Mandir by the L block is also of the same height. Keeping this in view, the security officers suggested that the government use the special paint in the 8th floor of the L Block towards the main road side. The windows will have bullet proof glass.
In addition, security personnel will be posted round the clock at Birla Mandir and nearby buildings. They will also be posted above the CM’s office and will continuously scan the surroundings with binoculars.
