Nothing to do with Modi! CM Siddaramaiah joins the Twitterati
CM's media team will update his facebook and twitter accounts with his approval

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched his website (www.cmkarnataka.gov.in), his facebook account (cmofkarnataka), twitter account (@cmofkarnataka) and videos on youtube here on Monday. Addressing media persons after launching his social media portal, Mr Siddaramaiah asserted that he was not prompted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use the social media. “I thought I should use social media to reach the people to tell them about my policies and programmes. So, I have launched myself on the social media, henceforth I will tweet on a regular basis”, Mr. Siddaramaiah replied to a question.
The CM admitted he was new to the internet and said that till he learn the usage of social media, his media team will update his facebook and twitter accounts with his approval. To create the Chief Minister’s social media, the post of a special officer (social media) has been created. “I have never used social media, but I will learn about it and update myself. Nowadays social media is inevitable to share information. It will help the government and me to convey our programmes and policies to the public”, Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
The Chief Minister’s facebook account will have frequent updates about his programmes, meetings with private and public representatives and also his public speeches. His special officers have clarified that the social media space of the Chief Minister will not be a political page and will only propagate the policies and programmes of the Chief Minister and his profile.
Soon after the creation of the Chief Minister’s facebook account, it has received 40,000 hits. People have even uploaded the photos of the Chief Minister attending his customary Janata Darshan programmes. His Media Advisor, Dinesh Amin Mattu said the site was created by the E-Governance department.
