The booing game: Congress to counter BJP
PM Modi does not belongs to a party, but belongs to the whole nation: Tumkur Cong MP
Tumkur: The Congress party is expecting about 5000 workers from across the State to arrive in Tumkur on Wednesday morning to cheer Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is attending the inauguration of the state’s largest Food Park at Vasanta Narasapur Industrial area on the outskirts of Tumkur by PM Narendra Modi.
According to sources, the Congress wanted its workers to attend the Prime Minister’s function in large numbers to counter BJP men if they tried to insult Mr Siddaramaiah as they allegedly did to Congress CM of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda recently by booing him. Meanwhile Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta has passed strict orders against sloganeering at the venue to maintain the sanctity of the PM’s programme. He said that the police will take stringent action against those who try to take the law into their hands.
Mr Siddaramaiah is attending the PM’s function as protocol demands it. Tumkur Congress Lok Sabha member S P Muddahanumegowda speaking to media men on Tuesday appealed to BJP and Congress workers not to create chaos at the function. He said, “PM Narendra Modi does not belongs to a party, but belongs to the whole nation. CM Siddramaiah is not only a leader of the Congress but belongs to the whole of Karnataka”.
He also asked the workers of Congress and BJP to forget the comments made by Siddaramaiah and Narendra Modi before the Lok Sabha elections saying such criticism of each other during the elections was common especially in a democratic set-up and asked party workers to maintain discipline as the Union government was planning to develop Tumkur as a ‘Smart City’.
