CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to pen songs for lakes
The song Garadi Chesthundru penned by Mr Rao was well-received
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will pen a song yet again. This time, it will be to create awareness about restoration and recharge of water tanks, lakes and ponds in the state that were built by the Kakatiya and Nizam rulers.
Mr Rao had earlier written a song for a 2011 film called Jai Bolo Telangana. The song Garadi Chesthundru penned by Mr Rao was well-received. He has also scripted songs for the upcoming film Kolimi. The songs highlight Telangana culture and language.
The CM said a dedicated week-long celebration will be held every year across the state to restore and recharge water bodies. He said an audio CD would be made with Telangana folk songs. “Telangana folk songs are very popular. I want to prepare a CD of folk songs on the importance of water bodies. I too will pen a song for this CD,” Mr Rao said.
