Special allotment to fill MBBS, BDS seats

The colleges have been asked to file an undertaking within 10 days from the date of Order to the effect that there is no defect in the Medical Colleges run by them.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has issued a notification for a special allotment process based on the State Government directive to fill 50 percent Government quota seats in three self-financing medical colleges and a self-financing dental college. The deadline fixed by MCI is on September 30. Included in the special allotment are BDS courses in Kannur Dental College, Anjarakkandi, Kannur and MBBS course in Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation, Venjaramoodu, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur Medical College, Anjarakkandi, Kannur  and Malabar Medical College and Research Centre, Modakkallur, Kozhikkode.

The notification was issued following a Supreme Court verdict which directed the Government to provide opportunities to these medical colleges which got conditional recognition consequent to an undertaking that they have the required facility for running the course. The colleges have been asked to file an undertaking within 10 days from the date of Order to the effect that there is no defect in the Medical Colleges run by them.

However, the deposit for the medical college which is with the MCI, and is around Rs. 10 crores, will be forfeited by way of penalty if the statement made in the undertaking is found to be incorrect at the time of the next inspection. Candidates, except those who have been allotted to Government/Government Controlled Self-Financing, Private Self-Financing Medical Colleges and Government Controlled Self- Financing, Private Self-Financing  Dental Colleges can submit fresh options through the Website www.cee.kerala.gov.in till 5 p.m. on September 26.

Candidates who do not register their options within the stipulated time will not be considered for the allotment to the above colleges under any circumstances. The vacancies, if any, created in Government Dental Colleges will be filled up in this allotment. Hence the candidates who desire to be considered for this allotment including that in Government Dental Colleges should confirm their options online within the stipulated time.
