GMR pitches for airport city, KCR for 2nd airport
The project is worth Rs 750-crore comprising of exhibition-cum-convention centre

Hyderabad: The GMR Group on Friday sought the Telangana government’s support for a proposed Rs 750-crore exhibition-cum-convention centre on about 50 acre of land comprising one lakh square metres area which will form part of Hyderabad Airport City and other projects.Representatives of the GMR Group met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the secretariat and gave a presentation on the proposed developmental projects planned by the group in Airport City.
Mr Rao said the government would examine the proposal and arrive at a decision.The CM suggested that the GMR Group gave a thought to developing one more airport towards the north of Hyderabad, an excellent hospital near Shamshabad airport, a world class theme park as well as an excellent nature cure centre.
Mr Rao told the delegation that as part of the single window clearance policy, the state government would study the existing tax structure in other states and would ensure 10 per cent less.The presentation by the GMR Group covered critical success factors and focus areas to develop brand Hyderabad on a global scale.
