Kozhikode: C. Prakasan, accused in the murder of RSS activist Manoj, was taken by the SIT to Kannur and Kathirur on Friday for evidence collection and preparation of mahassar. Police sources said Prakasan, CPM Kizhakke Kathirur local committee member, showed them the spots from where he took key accused Vikraman to the Payyanur hospital and then to the hideout.
“Vikraman and other members of the assailant gang were present in the same locality where the murder took place. Prakasan met Vikraman in the same area during the night and then took him to Payyanur cooperative hospital for treatment. As per his version, all members of the assailant gang were present in the same area,” a senior police official said.
The SIT will take Prakasan to Payyanur hospital on Saturday. Prakasan’s police custody will end on Monday and the SIT is trying to gather as much evidence as possible to prove his involvement in hiding the prime accused.
