Hyderabad: Those caught gambling by police during Dasara or Diwali might not only lose their money, but also their vehicles, cellphones, gold or any other item which they are carrying.
In a recent case, a lower court in Nalgonda ordered the police to confiscate a two-wheeler and four cellphones that were seized. The case pertains to four people whom the police caught while they were playing cards in a village. While allowing the plea, Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao ruled that if the police had proof that those articles were pledged as security by gamblers, the lower court could confiscate them.
