Jaya was given curd rice, fruits and bread as per her request

Bengaluru: The convicted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J, Jayalalithaa, her close aide Sasikala Natarajan and relative J Ilavarasi have been kept in the female wing of the Parappana Agrahara central prison. “Jaya seems to be depressed after the verdict and she is not talking to anyone. She is not even speaking to her close aides Sasikala and Ilavarasi,” a jail official said.

Prison officials said that the four convicts entered the prison around 6.30 pm. “As per procedure, their details were recorded in the prison register. Later, they were all subjected to medical tests in the prison hospital. Later, they were sent to their barracks. They have also been given the convict prisoner numbers. Jayalalithaa’s number is 7402, Sasikala’s is 7403, Sudhakaran’s is 7404 while Ilavarasi’s number is 7405,” the official said.

Sasikala, Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi were given a ragi ball, two chapathis, 450 grams of rice, and 500 ml of sambar for dinner. “Jaya was given curd rice, fruits and bread as per her request. All the four have been given two bedsheets and all the three women have been give white sarees. Sudhakaran has been given a white shirt and pant,” the official said.

A woman superintendent from Mysore prison has been called to supervise Jaya and she will be coming soon.
