People’s capital to connect Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Mangalagirii
Land pooling to begin in 2 to 3 months

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said a people’s capital will be developed connecting Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri. Land pooling will begin with the participation of farmers within two or three months.
Mr Naidu was addressing a meeting after launching Doordarshan’s Saptagiri channel here on Saturday. He will launch all major programmes from Vijayawada here after. The CM will launch “Swatcha Andhra Pradesh” on the lines of “Swatcha Bharat” in Vijayawada on October 2.
Mr Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the “Make in India” programme and he has decided to make AP a destination for manufacturing centres and popularise the concept of “Made in AP”.
Mr Naidu stressed on the need for decentralisation of development and added that the development programmes would be linked to four districts of Rayalaseema. Work will start at the foundation level in the new capital, he said.
He expressed concern over the unhealthy competition in the media and priority given to negative campaigns in the name of breaking news. Earlier, DD Saptagiri director-general Vijayalakshmi Chabra, said, the Saptagiri channel would beam programmes for the benefit of five crore people in Andhra Pradesh.
Union minister for urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu presided over the programme. Among those present were, deputy CM N. Chinarajappa, ministers Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Kamineni Srinivas, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra, MLCs Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Chaitanya Raju, MPs Kesineni Srinivas, K. Narayana, Maganti Venkateswara Rao, Gokaraju Ganga Raju, Prasar Bharathi CEO Jawahar Sarkar, AIR director general Shahariar and other senior DD officials.
