Maanyata Dutt kept the annual Mata Ki Chowki at her residence in Mumbai

Like every year, this year too Maanyata Dutt kept the annual Mata Ki Chowki at her residence in Mumbai. But this time it was a low key affair, as Sanjay Dutt could not be a part of it and was missed by everyone. We hear that the actor wrote a letter to Maanyata and insisted that like every year, this year too she should host the Mata Ki Chowki and seek the goddess’ blessings and carry on the tradition, even in Sanju’s absence.

Among those seen at this spiritual gathering were Sanjay’s Munnabhai co-star Vidya Balan, Sophie Chaudhary, Bunty Walia, Krishika Lulla, along with Sanjay and Maanyata’s children Shahraan and Iqra.

A source reveals, “Maanyata invited a panditji all the way from Katra in Jammu to perform the pooja. Post the pooja, panditji told Sophie that he has seen her on TV and thinks that she sings very well. He asked her to sing some lines. Sophie started singing the song Dama Dum Mast Kalandar Mata Ka Pehla Number. It was nice to see Vidya and Maanyata clapping as they joined Sophie in the chorus.”
