CoimbatoreElectrician K. Prabhakaran (24) illumined the Kamakshi Amman temple at Mettupalayam with dazzling lights for Navarathri festival, but now his life is lost.

“He went every day to the temple to make lighting arrangements for the Navarathri festival and slept near the temple at night. I warned him not to sleep inside the warehouse. But he did not heed my words,” wailed Prabhakaran’s father Krishnasamy. “Now, he is gone forever,” said Krishasamy, who is also an electrician.

Prabhakaran was among the three victims buried alive in the collapse of a warehouse building next to the temple. After the Navarathri celebrations on Mondaynight, Prabhakaran, temple priest Palanisamy and a temple worker, besides three others, were sleeping in the run-down warehouse.

However, on Tuesday morning, the building collapsed, killing three and leaving three others grievously injured.
