Ponnala Lakshmaiah hits out at K Chandrasekhar Rao on decisions
Ponnala blamed ministers for making statements and announcements and again reversing them
Hyderabad: Hitting out hard at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday said due to reversal of decisions in certain matters and indecision on some other issues, the TRS which came to power claiming to be champions of Telangana, has not done anything tangible so far.
Speaking to newsmen at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Lakshmaiah said it was Mr Rao who announced after the Cabinet meeting that the government would extend financial assistance and other facilities to family members of the Telangana martyrs since 1969, the first major agitation demanding a separate state. But, he said, the same person (Mr Rao) announced a day ago that only family members of 462 martyrs identified from 2009 will be given the assistance.
“It is a clear case of insulting the Telangana martyrs and their families. How can you limit the number now? If you don’t have the details we will provide you the same, why are you being so discriminatory and confused? asked' Mr Lakshmaiah
He also blamed ministers for making statements and announcements and again reversing them. Giving an example, the Telangana PCC president said that in the name of regularisation, the state government had announced closure of 5,000 primary schools and after facing severe opposition it again said there will be no closure of schools.
“On FAST scheme, Metro Rail, Eamcet counselling, reregistration of vehicles, kharif loans, loan waiver and on so many issues there has been no clear cut decision yet by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao” Mr Lakshmaiah added.
