Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Wednesday withdrew 690 cases that were pending against students, youths and others involved in the Telangana agitation. Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy who is undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital in the city, signed the file scrapping the cases against agitators involved in the Telangana movement.

Senior police officials took the file to the hospital and got the home minister’s approval. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to withdraw all cases against Telangana agitators in his election manifesto.
