Long pending infrastructural projects in Mumbai will be inaugurated soon: PM Modi

Mumbai: After addressing three rallies in Harayana and Maharashtra, Modi arrived in Mumbai as a part of his party poll campaign. This is Modi's first visit to Mumbai post BJP-Shiv Sena divorce.

Modi is giving a speech at Mahalaxmi race course in Mumbai. He began the Mumbai address in Marathi. Here are the highlights of the speech:

• I promise complete development to the people of Maharashtra
• Have just celebrated festival of Vijaya Dashmi and today I come to the land of Shivaji with the message of Victory
• A contest of 'who will criticize Modi more' is going on within Congress these days
• 15 years is a very long time, what has Mumbai gained out of 15 years of Congress governance?
• If these 15 yrs hadn't been wasted, the people of Mumbai wouldn't have been deprived of food today
• There is a need of new era of economic growth for Mumbai and Maharashtra to change the fate of nation
• The youth of the nation wants development and change today, they have a dream of new India in their eyes.
• The USA is also harping India's tunes
• Kailash Mansarovar was inaccessible earlier. Now even the old can reach there by road. Why did this not happen in the last 60 years?
• By December 2022, every person will have a house to stay with water, toilet and electricity
• We need wi-fi and high-fi, but most importantly we need cleanliness
• We will put the best Metro of India in Mumbai within our tenure only and will inaugurate it
• Many of the long pending infrastructural projects in Mumbai will be inaugurated soon
• We will establish Navi Mumbai Airport, Mumbai-Navi Mumbai sea link within our tenure
• Even though we went to America, the development of the poor in our country has been my concern

In his speech earlier, Modi urged the audience to not litter on the ground and participate whole-heartedly in his pet project ‘Clean India campaign’.

Modi said that today the entire world was looking at India with greater respect and this had happened not because of him, but the power of 125 crore people of India, who had formed a strong and stable government at the Centre.

"Why has India's pride increased today? It is not because of Modi, it is because 125 crore people of India have formed a stable and strong government in Delhi. This is your magic not Modi's magic. Do you want that Haryana's name also echo around the world.”

"Its first condition is that there should be 'Congress mukt Haryana'. The second that a stable government with full majority should be formed. And third, there should be a government which lets Modi work in Haryana," he said.

Attacking the ruling Congress in the state, Modi said that those who could not do anything for the last 60 years were now asking for his record in 60 days. "The people who could not do anything in 60 years, they are asking for my 60 day record," he said.

In his 30-minute address at a rally here, Modi, while describing the ruling Congress as "anti-farmer", was also critical of the party's claim that Haryana was No 1 State.
