Nellore: Bharatiya Janata Party state president and Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu reiterated that the BJP-led Union government was committed to the rebuilding of the state of Andhra Pradesh on a war-footing, during his visit to Nellore on Sunday.

The BJP state president, who addressed the party leaders and cadres at the BJP district office in Nellore on Sunday, noted that the BJP-led Union government had sanctioned as many as 11 premier institutes to the state to turn AP into a knowledge hub.

The BJP MP said that the state, under the TD-BJP combine, with the support of the BJP-led government at the Centre would witness overall progress in the years ahead and emerge as one of the fastest developing states in the country.

Mr Haribabu said the Buckingham Canal waterway would be modernised to make optimal use of the waterway to pump in rich commercial dividends. Mr Haribabu said that the development of the state instead of being centralised around the capital as happened in the case of Hyderabad would be decentralised by developing mega and smart cities across the state. State-level and district BJP leaders and cadres took part in the meet.
