Participating in Asian Games was a correct decision, says Sania Mirza

Mumbai: Sania Mirza expressed her happiness with the way the Indian tennis contingent performed at the 17 the Asian Games in Incheon. The Indian tennis team won 5 medals including a mixed doubles gold which was bagged by Sania Mirza and Saketh Myneni.

Sania had also won a bronze medal in the women’s doubles partnering Prarthana Thombare.

Sania who is currently enjoying a brilliant run of form has bagged a number of titles including her Asian Games triumph. Discussing that, the Hyderabadi tennis sensation said, “she is peaking at the right time.”

Sania Mirza who reverted her decision to skip the Asian Games and chose to represent her country in the Incheon Games, said that she took a correct  decision to participate in the 17th Asiad.

On a candid note, Sania admitted that being the oldest in the team at the Asian Games felt a bit weird. The other members of the team were 7-8 years younger to her.
