The Pakistani singer has been issued summon through diplomatic channel

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summon to Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali khan in connection with its probe into the alleged violation of the foreign exchange rules  carried by him in 2011.
 
The renowned Pakistani singer has been issued summon through diplomatic channel, sources said adding that he has been given three months time to reply to the queries raised by the investigative agency. 
 
“The investigative agency may impose heavy penalty on him, if the singer fails to give a satisfactory reply”. The Pakistani singer was detained at the IGI airport by the officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for allegedly carrying USD 1.24 lakh on February 13, 2011.
 
The singer, along with his troupe, had landed in Delhi from Karachi and was on his way to Dubai when he was detained.
