Karimnagar: A large number of Muslims offered special prayers at Masjids and Idgahs in Karimnagar city and at various other places in the district on the occasion of Bakrid on Monday.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar, MLA Gangula Kamalakar and ZP chairperson Tula Uma visited the Idgah at Salehnagar and greeted Muslims there.

Over 10,000 Muslims gathered at the Salehnagar Idgah and offered mass prayers on the occasion, which was organised by Imam Hafeez Mohammad Ahmed. Later, the Imam delivered the message of the festival.

He said that Bakrid signifies willingness to sacrifice for God, the supreme power in the world. He urged Muslims to uphold the message of Koran by preserving values of brotherhood and staying away from wrongs.
