Kochi: There are very few places where Malayali maintains discipline even if the wait is hours long. One is obviously the infamous queue before a liquor outlet and the other is to get a glimpse of celebrities.
The hundreds of fans that waited outside the domestic terminal of Nedumbassery Airport to see India and West Indies cricket teams were well behaved despite their patience being tested by delayed arrivals.

It was at least an hour after the expected exit time that the Indian contingent had walked out with pace bowler Mohammed Shami leading the line followed by eight team members and support staff.
Everyone except Virat Kohli wore the blue uniform while the swashbuckling vice-captain of team India was in a white T-shirt and blue skinny jeans.

Shikar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Mohit Sharma and Umesh Yadav came in the first batch and were followed by Amit Mishra and Murali Vijay.
Even after the Indian had left for their hotel the crowd stayed behind to receive the West Indies. The visitors were delighted with the gesture and waved back at the fans and even took a few selfies.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina arrived at night. Meanwhile, the Kerala cricket association informed that ticket sales for the 2.30 pm match on Oct. 8 has crossed Rs 50 lakh.
The KCA also informed that it will be honouring hockey goalkeeper and vice-captain of the Indian team that won gold in Asian Games P.R. Sreejesh, a resident of Ernakulam, at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Tuesday.
