Apple is all set to unveil the iPad Air 2 this month, but all the details are closely guarded. However, according to a report on The Micheal Report, Re/code has leaked out massive details about the iPad Air 2. Here are the pointers that will matter to most of you, regarding the iPad Air 2:

  • The iPad Air 2 will have a completely laminated Retina display, which means it is going to be thinner than the present lineup.
  • A re-engineered speaker system, which will be encased in a single row rather than two different split grilles.
  • The mute/vibration switch is not included in the new design to achieve a thinner profile.
  • Volume buttons to be more recessed than present ones.
  • Microphones to be relocated from the top to the rear, on the two sides of the camera.
  • Gold colour to be introduced as an addition to the present silver and black versions.
  • Upgraded front camera to support 720p recording.
  • Rear camera to be upgraded from 5MP to 8MP.
  • The iPad Air 2 will be powered by the A8 chip, manufactured by TMSC, with 2GB of RAM.
  • New generations iPads to skip the 16GB storage, will come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants.
  • TouchID fingerprint scanner to be included.
  • iPad Air 2 to be 9.7-inches, while iPad Air Pro to be 12.9-inches.
